  Department of Accountancy

The Accountancy Department has been very prominent in the Commerce Stream. The Accountancy teachers have greater responsibility on them as they have to teach three compulsory papers and one elective choice paper at T.Y.B.Com. The responsibility increases for the Department as the students appear for University Examinations. Their contribution in this field is noteworthy because the students quite often score 100/100 in these subjects.
The faculty also engages lectures for M.Com. Since all of them are Chartered Accountants, they also guide students in preparing for C.A. and other professional courses. They organised a workshop for discussing the project work for the subject Taxation at T.Y.B.Com Level.

  Department of Commerce

The Commerce Department is one of the prominent Departments of our College covering of F.Y.B.Com to T.Y.B.Com classes and also an optional subject at S.Y.B.A. The Commerce Association is nurtured under Commerce Department. It conducts various activities for students.
It has conducted one UGC Sponsored National Seminar and various workshops. The Department Members also help in conducting M.Com Part I and II lectures.

  Department of Foundation Course

The faculties of Department of Foundation Course teach the subject of Foundation Course to the students of FY B Com and FYBA and to the students of SY BCom and SY BA. Keeping in mind the syllabus of FY level, the Department helps the students in personality development and helps the students of SY level to understand the trajectory of Science and Environmental issues.

  Department of Geography

The Department teaches Geography at FYBA, SYBA and TYBA and Environmental Studies at F.Y.B.Com level. The Members also teach Geography at MA level and take classes for the add-on course, ‘Travel and Tourism, Management’. The Department has acquired two ranks:
1. A final-year Geography student secured 3rd rank in 2004-05 at University of Mumbai
2. A final-year Geography student got 2nd rank in 2006-07 at University of Mumbai.
The Department uses a computer laboratory to familiarize the students with computers. The Department has its thematic and topographical maps, surveying instruments, wall maps, aerial photos, satellite imageries, weather instruments and Geo media software, i.e. software of Geographical Information System.

  Department of Economics

The Economics Department is the only Department of our College which has the twin responsibilities of taking care of lectures from First Year to Third Year level in both Commerce and Arts Streams. It takes care of Business Economics Papers I, II and III in Commerce Section and Economics Paper I at F.Y.B.A. level, Economics Paper II and III at S.Y.B.A. level, and six Papers at T.Y.B.A. level (Papers IV to IX). The faculty also help to conduct MA [Economics] and M.Com Part I and II lectures.

This Department is also gender balanced with two male and two female Members. All of them are active in paper presentations at State, National and International levels. Economics Department has organised one State level and three National level seminars and one workshop for syllabus revision of T.Y.B.Com Business Economics Paper III.

The Members of the Department teach at F.Y.B.Com. and F.Y.B.A. levels for the subjects of ‘Business Communication’ and ‘Communication Skills in English’ respectively. Both the subjects are taught with the help of regular lectures and tutorial sessions. In the tutorial sessions, a small group of students are personally trained by the respective faculty Members in developing skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking. The Department also organises talks and seminars, wherein experts are invited to address both students and faculty.

  Department of Mathematics

The Department has the responsibility of teaching at F.Y.B.Com level. Considering the importance of the subject ‘Mathematical and Statistical Techniques’ for professional courses such as MBA , MMS, CA, CS, ICWA, MCA, etc., the Department gives intensive coaching during its tutorial sessions. The Department conducts tutorial tests and asks the students to prepare an assignment book, which is periodically checked.
The Department has also conducted a course on Vedic Mathematics for increasing numerical ability. The course is a part of high-speed mathematics. It also organises the Mathematics-Statistics Quiz Competition to heighten students’ interest in the subject. The Department also undertakes data analysis and prepares a project report which is useful for research methods.

  Department of Psychology

Department of Psychology has the responsibility of teaching the subject of Psychology at FYBA, SYBA and TYBA level and the subject of Industrial Psychology at T.Y.B.Com level. Moreover, the Department manages the add-on course, ‘Child Care and Child Development’. The Department is actively involved in counseling College students. The unique feature of the Department is that it follows a very interactive teaching methodology.
The faculty Members and students are involved equally during teaching sessions, wherein a case study is taken up from one of them and various therapies and their applications are explored together. Every year, the Department takes the students to institutions such as remand homes, orphanages, sanatoriums, asylums and care and rehabilitation institutes for HIV positive patients to bring about community awareness and make the students sensitive to this neglected class of the society.
