ABOUT PROGRAMME

About the Programme – Psychology (Under-Graduate)

After completion of three-year program in Psychology the learner acquires a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology which will help to secure admission into Post Graduate program in Psychology or any other Program. On completion of the undergraduate program the learner should be should be able to demonstrate the following skills.

  • Disciplinary knowledge and methods, theoretical perspectives, empirical findings, and historical trends in different subfields of Psychology.
  • Understand and apply basic research methods in psychology, including research design, data analysis, and interpretation.
  • Demonstrating the ability to apply psychological knowledge to prevent and solve human problems existing at individual, group and societal levels and develop related skills that promote human welfare, and optimal human functioning
  • Competence and the ability to use computers and other technology such as e-resources and social media for contributing to new learning approaches and learning preferences
  • Use listening, speaking, observing, empathizing, presentation and public speaking skills to communicate effectively
  • Recognize, understand, and respect the complexity of sociocultural and international diversity.

MA in Psychology (Industrial and Child Psychology)

About the Programme

Psychology as a discipline has garnered lot of attention in the past few years and is the most sought-after course. More and more students are aiming to study psychology due to new career opportunities be it domestic or international level. We at Nagindas Khandwala College have taken this opportunity and introduced PG courses in Psychology with the purpose to help students pursue a career as a professional psychologist. MA in Psychology is a two-year program with 120 hours of internship for two semesters in corporate/school/college settings which will provide a platform to exhibit knowledge of psychological assessment and intervention skills. 120 hours of research project will enable the learners to acquire the nuances of carrying out scientific study on various social/emotional/ behavioural issues at workplace or school/college settings.

Programme Highlights

On completion of the Program of MA in Psychology, the learner will be:

  • Employable in the Human Resources Department of Organizations or in school / college settings.
  • Develop competence in teaching skills, clinical testing, supervision, and consultation skills
  • Employable as a faculty to teach Psychology at the Undergraduate level.
  • Able to understand and apply psychological principles to individual, social, and organizational issues.
  • Able to write a scientific paper (research report, research proposal, literature review) that clearly communicates theories, hypotheses, research methods, and research findings.
  • Able to demonstrate competence in interpersonal skills and sensitivity in working and communicating with culturally diverse populations in the regional, national and global community.
  • Able to pursue PhD in Psychology.
  • Able to work as an independent researcher or seek job as a Research Assistant
