Institutional Prizes and Awards

Nagindas Khandwala College recognises students for excellence in academics, sports, cultural activities, leadership, communication, event organisation and overall performance. The following prizes and awards acknowledge deserving students across different programmes and areas of achievement.

1: Deepak S. Bansal Memorial Award

This award is given to the student of the college passing the T.Y.B.Com. Examination with the highest aggregate marks.

2: Bhailalbhai J. Patel Merit Prize

Donated by the Malad Sanstha Congress Sarvajanik Trust, Malad

This prize is given to the student of the college who passes the T.Y.B.A. Examination securing the highest aggregate marks.

3: Ramanbhai Patel Merit Prize

This prize is given to the winner of the Gujarati Sahitya Mandal’s Sugam Sangeet Competition.

4: Sheriff Lion Ashok Mehta Excellency Award

This award is given to the Best Student of the College for outstanding overall performance.

5: Shri Dattatraya Anant Thakur Memorial Prize

This prize is given to the Best Sportsperson of the Year in the Degree College.

6: Shri Ajit Ram Ailawadi Memorial Prize

This prize is given to the student of the college securing the highest marks in the subject of Business Law in S.Y.B.Com.

7: The Sane Guruji Memorial Prize

This award is presented for achievement in the Marathi subject in the Arts stream of the University of Mumbai.

The prize is given by Mrs. Shraddha Daggaonkar to the B.C. girl student of the Arts stream securing the highest marks in the Marathi subject examination of the University of Mumbai.

8: Shri Choonilal Girdharlal Memorial Prize

The Choonilal Girdharlal Foundation gives this prize to the student of the college passing the T.Y.B.M.S. Examination with the highest aggregate marks.

9: M/s. K. Dipen & Co. Prize

This prize is given to toppers in the subject of Accounting.

10: Shri Mukesh Mehta Prize

This prize is given to the Best Sportsperson.

11: Mr. Sushant Bangera Prize

This prize is given to the Best Student.

12: Shri Deepak Shukla Prizes

  • For securing a rank in T.Y.B.Com./B.A. or for being the topper in T.Y.B.Com.
  • For being the topper in Accountancy Paper I at the T.Y.B.Com. Examination.
  • For being the topper in Direct and Indirect Taxation at the T.Y.B.Com. Examination.

13: Smt. Panna Shukla Prizes

  • Two prizes for female students receiving recognition at the State or National level in NCC, NSS or Sports.
  • For the Best Original Article written by a student and selected for Niharika.
  • For the Best Student receiving recognition for Oratory Skills or Singing.

14: S. Jayakumar Ebenezer Memorial Award

This award is presented to the Best Students of Spotlight, the NKC Podcast.

15: Lakshmi Krishnamurti Endowment Award

One award each is given to a student from F.Y.B.B.I. and S.Y.B.B.I. who comes from a financially weaker background and demonstrates the potential and determination to work hard.

16: Incentives for Sports Achievers

At the end of the academic year, awards and cash prizes are given to students for outstanding performance in sports. The cash prizes are decided by a committee based on the achievements of each student.

17: BMS Students Batch 2015–2016

This award is presented to the Best Students of BMS.

18: Ms. Shivani Parmar and Shri Jitu Parmar

This award is presented to the Best BMS Students.

19: BMS Students Batch 2014–2017

This award is presented to two Most Aspiring Students from F.Y.B.M.S. and S.Y.B.M.S. who possess good academic records and actively participate, win or organise intra-collegiate events.

20: BMS Students Batch 2016–2018

This award is presented to the Best Student Event Organiser of the Year for active participation in intra-collegiate and intercollegiate activities.

21: Ms. Filoni Kkanani

This award is presented to the Best Speaker of the Year.

22: Shri Narendra Dalal Endowment Award

This award is presented to the Best Student from the Banking and Insurance programme who has a good academic record and belongs to a financially weaker section.

23: Shweta and Anil Singh Ujwal Award

This award is presented to an academically meritorious student from B Section.

24: Accountancy Department

This award is presented to the student securing the highest marks in the subjects of Management Accounting and Auditing.
